Tool bits: amazing adaptability

The bit remains the instrument or accessory, which, together with the drill, is the essential tool to succeed in making holes. The drill can be thought of as the motor that turns the bit. These practical accessories can work through any type of material or surface. Ronix tool recommends that you familiarize yourself with the different types so that you can choose the best one for your application.

Different types of bits and their applications

This item is a basic tool in the hands of every technician: carpenter, roofer, fitter, mechanic, or builder. It is used to make holes with a drill or other power tools equipped with a rotary motor.
Even as a professional expert, it is not always easy to find the way around the incredible variety of bits. So, if you are trying to find a supplier, it is normal to need some explanations. Well, we're here to go over it with you, and help you to choose the best manufacturer!
•    Drilling through metal
Drilling metal is probably one of the most complicated things to do. For this, you need to have the right equipment to get perfect holes without risking unpleasant surprises. There are several metal bits available for this purpose.
•   The High-Speed Steel bit or HSS: the HSS is an efficient tool for drilling non-ferrous metals. For grey cast iron, we recommend an HSS-R, which is more resistant, while for alloy steels, the HSS-G will offer a longer life;
•    Carbide-tipped are suitable for drilling soft, non-ferrous metal;
•    Titanium-coated bits are highly resistant;
•    Cobalt types are heat resistant and therefore perfect for high-speed drilling, such as stainless steel, bronze, hard steel, cast iron, or nickel.
•    Drilling through concrete
Particularly used during construction or renovation work, concrete bits are generally composed of tungsten carbide inserts at the end; a very solid material. These items accept a rotation with percussion. This versatile equipment can then easily drill through concrete and natural stone, such as granite. Again, there are several types of concrete bits.
•   The concrete type with a smooth shank, which can be used with a conventional percussion drill with a chuck;
•    The SDS plus one has more power when drilling. It fits all SDS+ tools;
•   The SDS Max items are professional quality, with a power rating of over 1200 watts.
•    Drilling through wood
•    The twist bit allows for deep holes, which is perfect for a beam;
•    The Forstner one is suitable for softwood. It allows drilling round and shallow holes, with a flat bottom;
•    The flat or butterfly type, makes it possible to make a deep hole very quickly in wood or chipboard;
•   The conical cutters help to finalize a hole already drilled so that the head of the screws is no longer visible in the wood;
•    The hole saw is used to make large holes in thin wood.

Steel Bits for Metal: Professional Metal Drilling

Steel bits for metal are one of the specialized tools used for drilling holes in various types of metal. They are also referred to as metal drill bits or metal cutting drill bits. The type of metal you drilling, the required hole size, the drilling speed, and the thickness of the surface are the important factors every operator needs to consider before selecting their desired steel bits for metal. Therefore, selecting the appropriate bit for the work will guarantee effective and precise drilling in metal materials. Wholesalers, importers, and distributors, on the other hand, need to bulk buy almost all of the Steel bits for metal sizes and models to have a successful trade in the tool accessories market.

Where to find a trusted tool bit supplier?

Before choosing a tool bit set, think about your customers. Are they professional or amateur users? What type of material do they want to drill? Each material has a different density, so the hardness and resistance to cutting will differ.

To help you figure out the right tool for your customers, we've put together a list of the key factors to consider before purchasing a wholesale drill bit set.

  • Material

We've explained the different types of bits above. Know your requirements and choose the best one for each job.

  • Diameter

 A large-diameter bit will be useful for heavy-duty drilling, while a small-diameter type will be preferable for precision work.

  • The angle of the tip

There are many tip angles: 60°, 90°, 118°, 120°, 130°, 135°, 140°, 145°, 150°, etc. The angle of the tip should be adapted to the material being drilled.

  • The length of the bit

It should also be noted that the bit comes in several lengths, which allows for choosing the one that best suits the depth of the hole to be drilled. In general, there are short and long series, but some brands can also create extra short and long drill bits set.
